Det ble gjort 68 prosent flere transaksjoner i norske nettbutikker på årets Singles Day enn i fjor. Det viser tall fra Klarna, en av Norges ledende leverandører av betalingstjenester.
En av de store kategorivinnerne er erotikk, med en ordrevekst på hele 63 prosent.
– Dette viser med all tydelighet at Singles Day er i ferd med å sette seg som handledag i Norge. Vi merker også at våre flere tusen norske nettbutikker i økende grad arrangerer salgsaktiviteter i forbindelse med det som internasjonalt blir kalt verdens største handledag, sier markedsdirektør i Klarna Norge, Thomas Elvestad.
Singles Day startet som en feiring av alle single, og har i løpet av kort tid vokst til å bli en av verdens største handledager. Den er spesielt stor i Kina, men også i en rekke andre land. Dagen blir alltid markert den 11.11, som i år falt på søndag i helgen som var.
Større vekst i Norge enn i Sverige og Finland
Klarna har innhentet rykende fersk salgsstatistikk fra alle sine nettbutikker i Norge, Sverige og Finland.
- Den viser at Norge hadde den største veksten i antallet enkelttransaksjoner, sammenliknet med fjorårets Singles Day. Mens Norge endte opp med en økning på 68 prosent, økte den 52 prosent i Sverige og 44 prosent i Finland.
- Volumøkningen var størst i Sverige med 107 prosent. Norske nettbutikk-kunder brukte hele 88 prosent mer enn de gjorde samme dag i fjor. Finland endte opp med en økning på 82 prosent.
Erotikk øker mest i Norge
Kategoriene som økte mest i Norge er ifølge Klarna underholdning (139 prosent volum og 84 prosent transaksjoner) og sport og fritid (124 prosent volum og 103 prosent transaksjoner).
En rekke nettbutikker som selger erotiske produkter har tydeligvis satset tungt på å nå single denne handledagen. Norske, erotiske nettbutikker økte sin ordreinngang med hele 63 prosent, og hadde en vekst i salgsvolumet mot i fjor på hele 49 prosent. Det er mer enn både våre svenske og finske naboer.
Kan tyde på nye rekorder under Black Week
– Norske nettbutikker har noen svært viktige uker foran seg med både Black Friday, Cyber Monday og hele julehandelen. Hvis Singles Day er en temperaturmåler for salget videre i november og desember, tyder alt på at det vil nå nye høyder i år, sier Klarnas markedsdirektør, Thomas Elvestad.
I en representativ undersøkelse* Klarna fikk utført i forkant av Singles Day, sier hele 52 prosent av de spurte at de ikke kjenner til Singles Day.
– Får Singles Day samme utvikling som Black Friday har hatt i Norge, tyder mye på at denne andelen raskt vil synke. Gode tilbud opp mot jul, som Black Friday og Singles Day er kommet for å bli, sier Klarnas Thomas Elvestad.
* Undersøkelsen er gjennomført av analyseinstituttet YouGov i perioden 3-7. oktober. Det er gjennomført til sammen 1011 CAWI-intervjuer med personer 18-74 år.
